  • Maintaining Occupational Health & Safety

OHS Policy

The Adaro Group places the highest priority on employee safety and health. To realize this commitment, The Adaro Group has developed a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy. This OHS Policy was established in 2016 and applies to all companies under the Adaro Group. In developing this policy, Adaro Group has considered both the relevant regulations and the company’s vision and mission. As a result, OHS implementation not only ensures compliance with regulations but also aligns with Adaro Group’s long-term goals. Adaro Group’s vision to be a leading energy company in Indonesia requires healthy and competent human resources. The company’s mission to operate professionally and sustainably cannot be achieved without ensuring the safety of all employees.

Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management System

Adaro Group demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees. This commitment is manifested through the implementation of an Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OHSMS) that adheres to international standards and/or has been certified to ISO 45001:2018. With a focus on employee safety and well-being, the Adaro Group ensures that the highest standards in occupational safety and health practices are consistently adhered to, creating a productive and sustainable environment for all team members.

  • Empowering the Community

Adaro Group’s strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is integrated within the company’s business strategy. We believe that CSR is an essential element in running a sustainable business. Adaro therefore implements CSR not only as an obligation but also as a commitment to contributing to sustainable development in its areas of operation. Adaro Group’s CSR has a clear vision, mission, and targeted strategy.

Impact of Operations on Surrounding Communities

As one of the largest coal mining companies in Indonesia, AEI recognizes that its operations have an impact on the communities surrounding its operational areas. In addition to positive impacts such as job creation for local communities, infrastructure development, local economic development, and improving the welfare of the community through various CSR programs, AEI’s operations also have the potential to change the social order, necessitating prudent management to protect the surrounding communities. Recognizing this, AEI consistently implements good mining practices and maintains good relationships with the surrounding communities. Additionally, our approach to minimizing the social impact of our business includes:

  • Aligning our CSR program plans with regional and national development plans;
  • Prioritizing the recruitment of local workers;
  • Striving to improve the capabilities of local workers;
  • Providing training through internship programs;
  • Enhancing human resource quality through the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) economic activities; and
  • Improving the institutional capacity at the village/subdistrict level.
